About us
Someone had to build the agency for people doing this once.
First Home HQ is a licensed New Zealand real estate agency operating under The Network. We work only with first home buyers, and we only list homes a first home buyer can realistically buy.
Why we exist
Most first home buyers are six to twenty-four months from buying. That's too early for a normal agent to spend time on, which is exactly why nobody helps at the point where help is worth the most.
So we built the opposite. Join years early, free. Get the First Home Passport, which holds your numbers and your progress. Learn the process properly. And when you're ready, see only the homes that pass our checks.
How we make money
We're paid a commission by vendors when we sell a home, the same as any agency. We may also receive referral fees from partner mortgage advisers, solicitors, inspectors and insurance advisers. That never changes what you pay or which partner we suggest.
The Passport is free and stays free. You're not the product — a buyer we rushed into the wrong house is worth nothing to us.
We say when a listing has a catch
A cross-lease, a body corporate levy, unconsented work. You'd find out eventually. Better now.
We don't give financial advice
We explain how things work and point you to a mortgage adviser. We're an agency, not an adviser.
We start early and we don't hassle you
Most people who join are one to two years out. Nobody rings you until you ask.
We publish our criteria
The 9-point First Home Ready Check is on the site. You can hold us to it.
